The latest obsession

So up until a couple of years ago, I was a tomboy. I very rarely wore dresses, never bothered to do much about my hair and my usual attire was baggy jeans and an old band t-shirt (or singlet in summer). But now, while my weekend attire is pretty much the same (the jeans are a little less baggy, I promise!), I have to dress a little more presentably for work. My hair is still a mess, and there's nothing I can do about that without getting up two hours earlier every day, but now I own a few dresses, several pairs of shoes that aren't Converse, and have started painting my nails.

Yes.You heard me. Painting my nails.

I used to think it was boring, and a chore. But now I know that you can MAKE it fun. The last couple of weeks, I've been painting my nails a lot. This all started when I found a nail polish that crackles when it dries. Like this:

It looks pretty cool, huh? I wasn't totally happy with the purple over black though, so I wiped it the next day and tried it with a lighter colour underneath:

Sorry to anybody reading this who happens to be of the male persuasion. If you're still reading this, I'm sorry that you had to read a blog post about nail polish. Would it make it any better if I posted a picture of some Stargate-themed nail polish that I did? I hope so!
